Part of our goal as club leadership is to make climbing accessible to anyone who wants to try it. For many, that means reducing costs. We are working on getting the best deals possible with climbing gyms to keep things cheaper for Northwestern students, and will always keep cost in mind when planning events. If you are interested in the club but worried about cost, consider applying for the Student Activities Assistance Fund. This is a grant that covers up to $600 a year for school activities and clubs— more than enough to get you started with climbing.
Cost varies depending on the gym. Listed below is the cost for Movement, the gym we climb at most often.
Thanks to our partnership with Movement, you will get discounted day passes and free shoe/harness rentals during club climbs.
Movement offers discounted day passes and free shoe/harness rentals on the first Friday of every month.
This is the standard cost for a day pass. Shoe rentals are $6 and harness rentals, which are only necessary for top-rope and lead climbing, are $5.
Members get unlimited gym access at all Movement locations, 2 free guest passes a month, and other benefits. This could be a good option if you climb often.
